When domestic water meters need to be installed underground, Meterfit Meter Box Chambers provide the perfect solution. Fully assembled and pressure tested, they remove the need for on-site adjustment of internal joints. The Meter box is installed first, at the bottom of the hole. Housing a non-return valve and meter carrier in Gunmetal or ABS, it provides a secure connection to the mains supply via Pushfit, F&F or Compression fittings.

The guard pipe simply clicks into the meter box. Standard guard pipes are 600mm high with other sizes are available to order. A protective frost plug is supplied as standard.

A plastic top hat can then be added to the guard pipe along with a Thomas Dudley model 6153 iron boundary box. Alternatively, the model 6150 iron box with integral guard pipe interface can be used. Please refer to the Thomas Dudley Ltd Product Range Catalogue.

Meter & Stopcock Carriers

Stopcocks are fitted in domestic underground and above ground water distribution systems. They enable the mains supply to a property to be turned off in the event of an emergency or when plumbing repairs or upgrades need to be undertaken.

Ferrules, Ferrule Straps & Saddle Straps

Ferrule straps (1) enable a 20mm, 25mm or 32mm MDPE service pipe (2) to be taken off a water main (3). Self tapping ferrule straps bolt around the mains pipe and contain a cutter which, when screwed down using a key, drills through the pipe allowing water to flow through the service pipe and into the property. A banjo (4) sits on top of the ferrule strap, allowing the service pipe to be taken to the property in any direction through 360 degrees.

Stopcocks

Stopcocks are fitted in domestic underground water distribution systems. They enable the mains supply to a property to be turned off in the event of an emergency or when plumbing repairs or upgrades need to be undertaken.
